Program Leadership Certifications

(Each Certification is Contingent upon the Previous Level) 


Level 1: Certificate of Completion

Given to those who go through our recovery workshop: This allows individuals the ability to co-facilitate a small group on a probationary period of 1 year.


Level 2: Co-facilitator with no restrictions.

Must prove a working knowledge of boundaries and suicide prevention through an exam that covers the material given during the workshop. Must complete facilitator training (Continuing Education) at least every 2 years.


Level 3: Facilitator

Requires a minimum of 2 years proven recovery with life-controlling issues. Facilitator must be able to share his/her story and have a minimum of 1 year co-facilitator or equivalent experience in clinical or spiritual support groups/therapy. Must prove a greater working knowledge of boundaries, suicide prevention, and facilitator responsibilities through an exam that covers the material given during a facilitator workshop. Must complete facilitator training at least every 2 years.


Level 4: Ministry or Program Leader

Requires minimum 3 years proven recovery with life-controlling issues and provide at least 3 references from witnesses to the recovery. Must possess proven leadership skills and provide at least 3 references from the leadership of the attending congregation. Minimum of 2 year facilitator or equivalent experience in clinical or spiritual support groups/therapy. Must attend program leadership workshop every year in order to keep certification. Recommend completion of RTC 12 Step program.


Level 5: Program Trainer

Requires a minimum of 4 years proven recovery with life-controlling issues and must provide at least 3 references from witnesses to the recovery. Requires the completion of RTC 12 Steps and a 3 year minimum of RTC facilitation experience. Minimum of 3 year facilitator or equivalent experience in clinical or spiritual support groups/therapy. Must have assisted in a supervised RTC training workshop. Assist in growing the program and improving sessions. Must attend a trainer workshop at least every 2 years.

One of the greatest assets available in a successful support group is knowledgeable  and effective leadership. The workshops  offered through Recovery - Through Christ provide basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of training to meet the needs of our program leaders and facilitators.


The levels of certification required for the leaders in the Recovery - Through Christ program protects the integrity of the program, assures the individual has the 

understanding needed to fulfill his/her duty, and guarantees that  the latest methods of facilitation are being utilized in each individual program.
