About Us

I come from a career in Corrections that began in 1997 and I am still there currently. I began my walk in recovery in 2010 when a friend of mine asked me to go to this new Recovery-Through Christ program at church to support him. I told him no. Then, because he continued to ask, I decided to go the next week to find out how to "fix" all those around me who were causing me problems. 

I WAS WRONG!

I realized how much I needed to work on me so that I could become a better husband, father, and christian. Now, I still am working on my recovery. I enjoy sharing my journey with others, and watcing God work in their lives also. 

I now love training churches and congragations to have recovery ministries and watching them create something that will become the biggest outreach they can have.

I knew my life was not going the way it should and I was unhappy. I was just living by going through the day to day motions of life. I started Recovery - Through Christ in January 2012 and it has changed my life, saved my marriage, and has given me a purpose. I have been married to David since 2000 and we have been vessels for God's work in recovery since 2013 together. After loosing my job in November 2024, I started working on getting the non-profit started and 501c3 status, so we could help other places start recovery ministries. I love being part of this work and especially being able to do the work alongside David. I believe we show the love of Christ to others by having empathy towards others and treating all people as a soul worth saving. In my extra time, I love spending time with our son, daughter-n-law and daughter, traveling and baking. 

  Dean Lee is the current VP of Nissan Trading Corporation Americas

Bringing his own experiences with addiction and OCD tendencies, both within himself and his family. Dean is deeply committed to supporting others on their paths to healing. He wants to foster understanding, reduce stigma, and expand access to compassionate, faith-centered care for those affected by these challenges. Dean believes that recovery and growth are possible for everyone when met with empathy, honesty, community, and most importantly strength from God our creator.

  Bret Hampton grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee. He has been married

to his wife Sonya Hampton for 32 years. They have one married daughter and recently became grandparents for the first time. They are members of the 109 Church of Christ in Lebanon Tn.

Bret has worked in the monument business for 28 years. He has carved many letters, emblems, logos and designs into buildings and sidewalks in the downtown Nashville area, but

helping families create memorials that honor their loved ones is something he takes great pride in doing.

Bret’s passion for Recovery - Through Christ (RTC) stems from his own positive experiences while going through the program. He knows first-hand how a God centered 12 step recovery ministry can impact the lives of those going through addiction and life controlling issues. He is

committed to helping RTC reach more people struggling with life controlling issues because he knows the benefits of the Ministry. He is an advocate for RTC even while doing other things he enjoys, such as camping, cooking, or chasing fish on the Caney Fork River.

  Bruce Johnson serves as the Chief Strategy Officer at Inline Electric Supply Company. With a background in corporate strategy, leadership development, and organizational growth, Bruce brings valuable experience in financial stewardship and long-term planning to the ministry. He believes true leadership is grounded in biblical principles and ethical decision-making, and he strives to apply these values in both his professional and personal life.

Deeply committed to helping others in need find hope and restoration, Bruce views Recovery - Through Christ as a powerful avenue to share God’s grace and healing with those seeking recovery and renewal. His heart for service and his dedication to Christ-centered living continue to guide his involvement and influence within the organization and the community.

  Life is hard but it is not supposed to be miserable. We are supposed to be able to enjoy it. I wanted to have someone to turn to when asked, "how are you doing" and I could trust in them and say, "you know I am not doing so great today." That is what Recovery - Through Christ has done from me in my life, it has helped me to learn the importance of "one another".

  Hi! I'm Katie. I am happily married with two boys. My love for my boys is actually how I discovered Recovery - Through Christ. My husband and I struggled with infertility and did in vitro fertilization. After 5 losses, my first son was born. With the trauma of IVF and having Post Partum Depression, I knew I needed help. Recovery - Through Christ was being advertised at our church, and I decided to check it out. I have been blessed to be a part of it ever since. I was honored to be asked to co-facilitate the ladies and have enjoyed watching others grow alongside myself.
